As we are off to France tomorrow :) I didn't wait to drive far so that cut down my options as I didn't fancy a open sea session in the forecast 30 mph winds in December and I dislike Alton so I ended up at Levington again. It didn't seem that windy when I got there at 10ish - I seem to have lost my wind meter:( but though it would be best to play safe and rigged to 7.8 and went out on the longboard as the tide was still a bit low for a shortboard. I was way under powered most of the time only getting going on a few gusts across the bay with the wind coming down the river from the docks. I got fed up with that so headed up to the Orwell Bridge again and got there alot quicker than yesterday !!! I found some flat water by The Strand but sadly the wind was very gusty but I did get my fastest speed here a sad 25 kts :( - oh to have a safe flat water venue near and handy !!! I did have to get out of the way of a small oil tanker heading to Ipswich before heading back on a tight reach back to Levington. This was horrendous - so so gusty and then when I reached Pin Mill the wind really picked up !! I was dumped in once but made it back to the van just !!! before deciding to pack up with the tide high and the water a real mess with winds gusting to 30 kts !!!

So this was my 50th and last session of a poor years windsurfing :( A few highlights - sailing around Tiree (perhaps the first windsurfer to do it) - a lovely day at Gruissan when I did 178 k :) + a few nice sessions in the Outer Hebrides. Lets hope 2014 is better :)

Just like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a healthy and windy new year :)
